Tony Payne is the FE Customer Partner for TOTUM, the student engagement and discount platform, as well as the National Lead for the Learner Voice Practitioner Network (LVPN).  He began his career as an elected Sabbatical Officer at Christ Church University after running the radio station as a volunteer. He has worked as a Learner Voice Practitioner for 12 years at Canterbury College where, the Students’ Union has become one of the most successful in the UK winning three NUS awards, the TES FE Award for supporting students and an AoC Beacon award.

As National Lead of the LVP Network he has contributed to national strategies on engaging FE students for the London 2012 Olympic Games, BBC Children in Need, UK Student Volunteering Network, the National Union of Students and regularly contributes to the TES #UKFECHAT network. He has recently completed a year’s secondment as Head of Union Development at NUS where he was leading the organisation’s new strategy on Learner Voice in Education as well as leading on Further Education Students’ Union Development. He was recently voted one of JISC top ten social media superstars for his work in Learner Voice.
